I had the pleasure of spending a summer afternoon working in a Pinot Noir vineyard this week, including a couple of hours suckering and a couple of hours working trellises, tucking vine growth in between wires. Every time I spend a few hours in the vineyard, my soul is nourished while my body is whacked. Today, my hamstrings and quads on my legs are sore from a couple hundred deep knee bends; my nose and respiratory system is still reeling from being affronted with grass pollens, while my soul soars with beauty, delight, and hope. Hope you enjoy the images of a June Pinot Noir vineyard, including a newly mown and trellised row, bright grape flower stars, and growing grape cluster babies.
