We are pilgrims on a journey

Brother, sister, let me serve you.
Let me be as Christ to you.
Pray that I might have the grace
To let you be my servant, too.

We are pilgrims on a journey.
We are brothers on the road.
We are here to help each other
Walk the mile and bear the load.

I will hold the Christ-light for you
In the night time of your fear.
I will hold my hand out to you;
Speak the peace you long to hear.

I will weep when you are weeping.
When you laugh, I’ll laugh with you.
I will share your joy and sorrow
Till we’ve seen this journey through.

When we sing to God in heaven,
We shall find such harmony
Born of all we’ve known together
Of Christ’s love and agony.

Brother, sister, let me serve you.
Let me be as Christ to you.
Pray that I might have the grace
To let you be my servant, too.

Richard Gillard, 1976-77 (CCLI Song #72673)

NOTE: On June 28, 2015, at both Sunday morning worship services at Cannon Beach Community Church, our Sacred Dance Company will dance to this song, covering the entire congregation with a blessing, enfolding Pastor David and Trina in that blessing, then bringing the blessing to the Celtic Cross where it will remain for the four-month period of this pastor sabbatical. The photos show the dancers in rehearsal in preparation for these worship services. We truly are covered with Christ’s blessing when we turn towards God in faith, hope and love. May Christ’s blessing remain over us as we journey together along this upcoming four month sabbatical pilgrimage, seeking to grow in our shared life in Christ. We will conclude the June 28, 2015 Sabbatical Blessing Service with this benediction song from the Northumbria Community, in Northumbria, U.K., a community Pastor David and Trina will stay with in August:

May the peace of the Lord Christ go with you,
wherever He may send you.
May He guide you through the wilderness,
protect you through the storm.
May He bring you home rejoicing
at the wonders He has shown you.
May He bring you home rejoicing
once again into our doors.
